Pachystegia insignis is a compact evergreen shrub that tends to spread more horizontally than vertically, typically reaching a height of no more than 1 meter in garden settings. Its young stems and shoots are densely covered with a layer of white or pale brown woolly fibers. As the leaves mature, they transform into glossy dark green ovate forms, measuring between 7 and 12 centimeters in length. The plant produces solitary flower heads on stalks that range from 10 to 20 centimeters long, emerging from the tips of shoots or the upper leaf axils. Each flower head resembles a daisy, reaching up to 7 centimeters in diameter, featuring pure white ray florets encircling a dense yellow disc, all framed by an egg-shaped, felted involucre.
