Pachyphragma macrophyllum is a herbaceous perennial that grows to a height of around 40 cm. It features rounded, scalloped basal leaves that can reach up to 10 cm in diameter, arranged in rosettes that may remain throughout the winter. The plant produces smaller leaves along its stems. In the spring, it produces flat clusters of small white flowers, which are succeeded by green fruits shaped like inverted hearts.

Pachyphragma is a genus of evergreen herbaceous perennials well-suited for creating low-maintenance, weed-resistant ground cover. In March and April, small, white flowers with four petals emerge. Certain varieties may display red-tinged foliage in the fall and winter seasons.
