Ornithidium densum is an evergreen epiphytic orchid characterized by a cluster of small, flattened, oval pseudobulbs that develop along a long, horizontal or drooping rhizome, which is enveloped in slender, dry bracts. Each pseudobulb supports a single leathery leaf that can reach lengths of up to 30 cm and widths of 3-4 cm, shaped narrowly and oval. During the winter and spring months, short flowering stems arise from the axils of the dry sheaths, showcasing clusters of small, fragrant flowers that range from pinkish-white and measure 1-2 cm across.
