Listera

Listera cordata

Listera ovata is a terrestrial orchid that grows from a short rhizome, sending up an upright stem topped with a single pair of wide, pale yellowish-green leaves that feature distinct veins. During mid to late summer, a flower spike can rise to 60 cm in height, occasionally shorter, and may bear as many as 100 flowers. The flowers themselves are yellow-green, characterized by a hooded shape and a long, forked lip.
