Dicranostigma lactucoides

Dicranostigma leptopodum is a biennial or short-lived perennial that typically reaches a height of approximately 50 cm. It features basal rosettes of elongated, deeply lobed leaves with serrated edges. The plant produces slender, upright stems that showcase loose clusters of 2 to 5 bright yellow flowers. These flowers, which bloom from late spring through summer, have petals reminiscent of poppies. When the stems are cut, they exude a yellow latex.

This genus comprises flowering plants similar to poppies, found in the Himalayas and Western China. They feature a basal rosette of foliage resembling thistle leaves in a blue-green hue and bear bright yellow blooms.
