A large, sprawling, deciduous shrub from Chile with broadly ovate, wrinkled, dark green leaves on arching, thorny stems and masses of small, bright golden-yellow, poppy-like flowers with numerous central stamens in spring and early summer. A bold and striking ornamental for a large, warm, sunny, well-drained border.
