About

Ferocactus emoryi, Emory's barrel cactus, is a striking blue-green barrel cactus from Arizona and Mexico, globular at first and becoming cylindrical to 2 m after many years. Young plants carry regularly arranged conical tubercles tipped with 610 long, curved, red or brown spines; older plants develop 1530 deep ribs. Red, yellow or pale-orange, widely-flaring flowers to 7.5 cm across appear in summer, followed by yellow, egg-shaped fruits.
