Exochorda racemosa, the pearlbush, is a deciduous shrub to 4 m with arching stems, narrowly obovate green leaves to 7 cm long (sometimes serrated at the tips), and upright racemes of relatively large, pure-white flowers from rounded buds in spring. A beautiful spring-flowering shrub for a sunny or partly shaded position.
