Eucryphia cordifolia, the ulmo, is a broad, columnar, evergreen tree or large shrub eventually reaching around 15�20 m, with leathery, oblong, dull-green leaves with downy-grey undersides and shallowly toothed margins. Fragrant, white flowers to 4�5 cm across are produced from late summer into autumn. An outstanding specimen for a sheltered, moist, acidic garden.
