A compact, rhizomatous, evergreen perennial to about 60cm tall from the Himalayan foothills of Nepal with erect stems bearing two ranks of broadly lance-shaped, bright green leaves and dense terminal racemes of showy, fragrant, pale cream ginger-lily flowers with orange markings in late summer. A choice Hedychium for a sheltered, warm, moist border or cool glasshouse.
