Eryngium bourgatii, the Mediterranean sea holly, is a compact, clump-forming perennial to around 45 cm with deeply divided, silvery-veined, spiny, dark-green leaves and small, rounded, blue-green flowerheads surrounded by narrow, blue-grey bracts in summer. One of the most ornamental and rewarding compact sea hollies.
