About

A compact, bushy, evergreen shrub to about 2m tall from New South Wales with narrow, mid-green leaves and dense, bright crimson bottlebrush flower spikes in spring and sporadically through summer. A vivid and free-flowering callistemon for a warm, sunny, well-drained border in a mild garden.

About the genus

A large genus of over 1800 neotropical orchids, hugely varying in size and appearance. Long, cylindrical, reed-like stems (pseudobulbs) grow in tufts on a short rhizome and carry mostly terminal, sometimes lateral flowers
