Epidendrum ibaguense, the rainbow orchid, is a vigorous, reed-stemmed epiphytic or terrestrial Epidendrum producing clusters of small, bright-orange, red or yellow flowers with a fringed lip continuously throughout the year on tall, upright stems. One of the most free-flowering and easy-to-grow of all epidendrums.

About the genus

Epidendrum are a diverse genus of over 1,800 epiphytic and terrestrial orchids native to tropical and subtropical America. They produce reed-like or cane-like stems bearing leaves along their length and clusters of flowers at or near the stem tips. Free-flowering and easy to grow, they are popular orchids for a heated conservatory or greenhouse.
