A dwarf, annual or short-lived perennial wallflower from very high-altitude rocky habitats in the mountains of Central Asia with small, narrow, grey-green leaves and short, erect stems bearing small, four-petalled, yellow-orange flowers in spring. A rare and specialist alpine for a very well-drained, cool alpine house.
