About
A compact, cushion-forming, evergreen perennial to about 15cm from rocky, dry habitats in Tenerife and La Palma with small, lance-shaped, grey-green leaves and hemispherical heads of small, pink, scabious-like flowers with silky, feathery (lasiospermus) awns on the fruits in summer. A charming alpine or rock garden plant for a well-drained, sunny position.
About the genus
Drosera, commonly known as the sundews are one of the largest genera of carnivorous plants. They are perennial or (more rarely) annual, upright herbaceous plants forming either prostrate or upright rosettes, and can live for up to 50 years.
