About

Diphylleia cymosa, the umbrella leaf, is a deciduous, rhizomatous herbaceous perennial reaching 60 cm tall with enormous, rounded, two-lobed leaves to 60 cm across on long stalks � often emerging red-bronze tinted in spring. Loose clusters of small, 6-petalled, white flowers to 2 cm across appear in late spring to early summer, followed by striking, bright-blue berries on red stalks. A bold and dramatic woodland perennial for a moist, shaded border.
