About

Diospyros lotus, the date plum, is a wide-spreading deciduous tree with glossy, rich-green leaves to 10 cm long. Tiny, pendant, bell-like, greenish flowers appear in midsummer, followed on female trees in a warm summer by small, yellow, orange or purple, plum-like fruits. A handsome ornamental tree for a sheltered garden.
