About

Dietes grandiflora, the fairy iris, is a clump-forming, rhizomatous, evergreen perennial producing iris-like flowers to 10 cm across in white with a rich-yellow stripe near the base of the broad 'falls' and violet-blue 'standards' from spring to summer. Blooms are produced in repeated flushes every few weeks throughout summer and may last several days. A reliable and beautiful plant for a sunny or partly shaded, frost-free border.

About the genus
