A compact, mat-forming, deciduous perennial from subalpine habitats of the Rocky Mountains (alpine lungwort) with broadly ovate, grey-green to blue-green, hairy leaves and short, nodding clusters of vivid, deep blue, tubular, bell-shaped flowers in early summer. A charming alpine perennial for cool, moist, well-drained conditions in a rock garden.
