A large, conical to pyramidal, evergreen conifer to 35�40m from the Mexican state of Durango, with long, flat needles bluish- to pale-green above and with two greyish stomatal bands beneath, and large, upright, cylindrical seed cones ripening from yellow-green to brown. A rare and unusual fir for a large garden or arboretum in a mild, sheltered climate.
