About

Cucurbita pepo 'Romanesco Latino' is a versatile summer squash variety known for its compact growth. It produces ridged zucchinis that display a mix of pale and dark green stripes, celebrated for their sweet and nutty taste. Harvest these zucchinis when they reach lengths of about 15-20 cm (6-8 in) for the best flavor. Continuous harvesting from July through October encourages prolonged fruit production. If allowed to grow, the fruits can develop into marrows; however, it's advisable to pick them before they exceed 10 cm (4 in) in diameter and 40 cm (16 in) in length to ensure they maintain their desirable texture and sweetness. With its manageable size, this cultivar is ideal for container gardening on patios where space is at a premium. The vibrant yellow flowers not only attract pollinators but are also edible and can enhance various dishes.
