'Cucurbita pepo 'Black Forest' is a climbing variety that can reach heights of up to 1.2 meters (4 feet) when trained on a trellis or frame. This plant yields smooth, dark green zucchinis over an extended harvest season, from July to October. The fruits are best picked when they measure about 15 to 20 centimeters (6 to 8 inches) long. Its vertical growth habit is ideal for gardens with limited ground space. The vibrant yellow flowers not only attract pollinators but can also be harvested for culinary use.

- Grow in fertile, moisture retentive but well drained, acidic to neutral soil in full sun. Sow indoors March to May in good quality seed compost.
