About

Crocosmia 'Lana de Savary' is a herbaceous perennial that forms clumps and develops an upright growth habit, reaching heights of up to 90 cm during its flowering period. This plant features narrow, blade-like leaves in a mid-green hue and produces graceful, arched flower stems adorned with numerous orange tubular blooms, each with a pale-orange throat. These flowers rise prominently above the foliage from mid to late summer. Its tidy and compact form makes it well-suited for smaller garden spaces.

Care notes

Cultivation
Corms should be planted in moderately fertile, humus rich soil approximately 10cm deep and 7.5–10cm apart in groups to form clumps. Water if it is a dry season as a lack of water reduces flowering. May have the potential to become a nuisance in some gardens if not managed well
Pruning
No pruning required, except the removal of dead leaves and flower stems before new growth starts in spring.
Propagation
Propagate by division in early spring when clumps become congested or Propagate by seed sown in containers in a cold frame as soon as ripe
Pest resistance
May be susceptible to glasshouse red spider mite
Disease resistance
Generally disease-free
