About
Clausena lansium is a rapidly growing, evergreen shrub or small tree that is part of the citrus family, reaching heights of up to 12 meters (40 feet) in its natural environment. The foliage emits a sweet anise aroma when crushed. This species is mainly cultivated for its pale-orange, egg-shaped fruits that develop after clusters of small white flowers in the spring. These fruits are commonly enjoyed fresh in southern China and Thailand, used similarly to kumquats, and are also processed into jellies and beverages.
