About
Citrus maxima is an evergreen shrub that can reach heights of up to 4 meters. Its leaves are glossy and oval, measuring up to 10 centimeters in length. Throughout the year, it produces aromatic white flowers that can grow to 4 centimeters in diameter. The fruit is large, typically green, and has a flattened-spherical to slightly pear-like shape, with weights that can reach 2 kilograms. For optimal growth, pomelos thrive in a cool or temperate greenhouse or conservatory setting, and they benefit from being placed outdoors during the summer.

- Cultivation
- Grow as a conservatory or greenhouse plant, in a container of peat-free, loam-based potting compost with added grit, in full light, with shade from hot sun. In growth during spring and summer, water freely, and mist daily. Apply fertilisers formulated for citrus, throughout the year, following the manufacturer’s instructions; water sparingly in winter.
