About

Cercis canadensis 'Hearts of Gold' PBR is a deciduous tree that typically features multiple stems and develops a rounded crown. It can grow up to 5 meters tall and spread 6 meters wide. In spring, its heart-shaped leaves start as an orange-red hue, transitioning to a vibrant gold-yellow in full sunlight, and eventually maturing to yellow-green. Before the leaves appear, clusters of small, pea-like flowers in a rose-purple shade bloom on the bare branches.

About the genus

Cercis consists of deciduous shrubs or small trees characterized by their heart-shaped foliage. The plants produce clusters of vibrant pink pea-like blossoms that emerge either before or alongside the leaves. After flowering, they develop flattened pods that are deep purple in color.
