About
Cedrus deodara 'Aurea' is a medium-sized evergreen tree that initially exhibits a conical shape with a weeping leader, eventually developing a wider crown. The needles can reach up to 4 cm in length and are a vivid golden yellow, transitioning to a greenish-yellow by late summer. Cone production is uncommon.
About the genus
Cedrus consists of substantial evergreen trees characterized by needle-like foliage that forms a spiral pattern on young branches and appears in whorls on shorter spur-like shoots. The ovoid cones disintegrate to disperse seeds while remaining attached to the tree.
