Brachyglottis compacta is a compact, evergreen shrub that typically reaches heights of up to 1 meter and can spread to 2 meters in width. Its leaves are oval-shaped with wavy margins, measuring around 4 centimeters in length; they exhibit a dark green color on the upper surface with a white margin and are covered in a soft, felt-like texture on the underside. The young shoots and flower stems also have a similar white hairs. From mid to late summer, it produces clusters of small, daisy-like flowers that are bright yellow.
