About
Betula utilis subsp. albosinensis 'China Ruby' is an upright, conical deciduous tree that can reach heights of approximately 25 meters. Its distinctive bark exfoliates in strips, revealing a coppery-red hue, while the newly exposed surface presents a creamy-white tone accented with hints of gray and pink. The leaves are oval and tapering, measuring around 7 cm in length, and are borne on densely warty shoots with a matte blue-green appearance. In autumn, these leaves transition to a yellow color. Male catkins, which are yellow-brown, emerge concurrently with the foliage.
