About

Asplenium viride is a perennial fern that forms dense clumps, characterized by its elongated fronds measuring between 10-25 cm in length and 2-3 cm in width. These fronds exhibit a range of colors from bright yellow-green to deep green and are marked by linear, tapering shapes that feature oblong leaflets. The edges of the leaflets are smooth to slightly serrated, and the fronds have a gently wavy outline, reminiscent of maidenhair ferns. Leaflets are arranged alternately along the fronds, contributing to the overall texture. A distinctive green or reddish stipe distinguishes this species from other types of spleenworts. From late summer to early autumn, brown sori can be found lining the underside of the fronds along the midrib.
