About
Aspidistra daibuensis is a clump-forming, evergreen perennial that typically reaches a height of around 1 meter. It features long, broad, lance-shaped leaves that are glossy and dark green, occasionally marked with pale yellow speckles. During the summer months, this plant may produce star-shaped flowers that are yellow-tinted with purple-pink hues, emerging near the base, followed by green berries. While commonly cultivated as an indoor plant, it also serves well in gardens within mild climates, demonstrating resilience to shaded environments and dry conditions.
About the genus
Aspidistra are perennial plants that grow from rhizomes, characterized by their upright, leathery leaves which can be either elliptic or lanceolate in shape. Their flowers, which are brownish and not particularly noticeable, develop directly from the rhizome.
