About

Arisaema murrayi is a tuberous perennial that typically reaches a height of up to 30 cm. Its foliage consists of five to six leaflets that are bright green and emerge either prior to or alongside the flowering phase. The plant features hooded white spathes, marked with emerald green stripes and violet-purple accents near the opening. Inside the spathe, the spadix displays a deep violet hue.

Arisaema consists primarily of tuberous perennials characterized by palmately lobed foliage. They feature unique tubular, hooded spathes that enclose small true flowers clustered at the base of a club-shaped or filamentous spadix. After flowering, these plants produce a spike bearing red berries.

Care notes

Cultivation
Grow in moist but well-drained humus-rich soil with plenty of leaf mold. A sheltered site is best in sun or dappled shade. In colder regions will need winter protection or bringing into a cool conservatory or greenhouse, and tubers must not dry out when dormant
