About the genus

This genus comprises approximately 30 species of tender annual perennials native to Mexico, Argentina, and northeastern Brazil. The leaves are lanceolate and dark green, while the flowers, which bloom in summer on erect stems, can be pink, purple, or white, resembling those of Snapdragons.
