About
'Abies koreana 'Green Carpet'' is a low-growing, spreading cultivar that creates a dense, cushion-like form. It typically grows about 5 cm annually. The needles start as a vibrant green in spring, transitioning to a deeper green as they mature. After a decade, this plant can reach heights of up to 60 cm and widths of around 180 cm. It also produces a variety of prominent purple cones that stand out against the green foliage.
About the genus
Abies are evergreen coniferous trees that can reach significant heights. They feature whorled branches that support narrow, flattened leaves, typically having a whitish underside. The upper branches produce substantial cones that disintegrate while still attached to the tree.
