Abies forrestii var. georgei is a vertical evergreen conifer that can reach heights of up to 40 meters. It features robust, densely hairy shoots and dark green, glossy needles measuring between 1.5 to 3 centimeters in length, with a greenish-white underside. In late spring, it produces upright, cylindrical cones that are purplish-blue and exhibit prominent blue bracts. These cones, which measure 7 to 12 centimeters tall and 3.5 to 6 centimeters wide, mature to a dark purplish-brown by late summer.
